Most of you have heard me talk again and again about how Natural Dog Training has two main components. We work with dogs at higher and higher levels of energy, learning how to ATTRACT them as they become more energized. That's what "being the moose" is all about. The other key component that we've discussed is relaxation - both for human and dog. Since we are physical conduits for the emotional energy of the environment, it follows that the more relaxed our dogs are (and the more relaxed we are) - the more energy that we can experience without going into overload behavior. Enter Brenda Bryan, of Barking Buddha Doga.
Brenda has created a form of Yoga-with-dog called "Barking Buddha Doga" - where human and dog interact in a heart-centered, yoga-inspired way. There are lots of great photos on her site so you can see what I'm talking about - and we'll probably be interviewing her at some point in the not-so-distant future, so Natural Dog Training Blog readers can find out a bit more about this way of fostering relaxation and connection in the human-dog relationship.
However, Brenda beat me to it, interviewing yours truly for HER blog. You can read the interview by following this link - if you're curious to find out a little bit more about Neil Sattin, Nola, and my quick synopsis of why Natural Dog Training is so great - in case you didn't feel that way already. She also included a couple of stills that I sent along, taken straight from the DVDs - so you can get a little bit more of a sneak preview. OK, I know it's just a morsel. But hopefully it stokes your Natural Dog Training appetite.
